21 Days of Oscar – Eye Candy

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, Cinematography is “the art or science of motion-picture photography” or as I like to call it “eye candy.” Cinematography encompasses everything that has to do with the shots of the film, more or less the visual elements ranging from lighting to camera angle to color. I have included some images from the 5 films nominated for Best Cinematography (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, The White Ribbon, Avatar), I have also included images from films that were not nominated. Check them out and vote on the poll! Also, only 4 days left till the Oscars!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

The Hurt Locker

Inglourious Basterds

The White Ribbon

Avatar

A Single Man

As obsessed as I am with A Single Man’s cinematography, Avatar’s was not just groundbreaking but the ONLY thing that made it live up to the hype.
